CONSULTANT MEDICAL ONCOLOGIST
Dr. Steven Tucker, a leading US-trained medical oncologist, brings his experience and caring style to patients at the Pacific Cancer Centre. Dr. Tucker has been widely recognized as the Director of the Prostate & Genitourinary Oncology Program at The Angeles Clinic & Research Institute in Santa Monica, California. In addition, Dr. Tucker served as Attending Physician at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the UCLA School of Medicine.
US-Board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology, Dr. Tucker earned his Medical degree in 1994 from the University of Missouri-Columbia, School of Medicine; completed his postdoctoral training in Internal Medicine, Oncology, Hematology, and Stem Cell Transplantation at the UCLA Center for Health Sciences; and has served as a Guest Investigator at the Rockefeller University in New York City. In 2006, Dr Tucker was elected by his peers as a prestigious Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Tucker was previously the Chairman of the Prostate and Genitourinary Program for the Accelerated Community Oncology Research Network (ACORN), a US-based research network comprised of major medical oncology practices, and continues to pursue clinical research in solid tumors.
In addition to investigative medicine, Dr. Tucker has been a strong political advocate for the Oncology community having served as President of the Medical
Oncology Association of Southern California, on the ASCO Clinical Practice
Committee, and on the Board of Directors of the Community Oncology Alliance.
Dr. Tucker has received numerous honors and awards including a prestigious ASCO Merit Award, an NIH Commendation, the UCLA 'STAR' Program Award, a Pew Foundation Fellowship, and the University of Missouri Medical Scholarship.
Dr. Tucker has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed publications and lectured extensively throughout the United States and internationally on the topic of prostate cancer. In addition, he serves as a reviewer for numerous journals on topics including delivery of quality oncology care and prostate cancer.
Since moving to Singapore in 2006, Dr. Tucker also serves as president of the International Medical Travel Association (IMTA), a worldwide organization with a mission to connect patients and quality healthcare professionals around the globe. He is a strong advocate for patients and is one of the original authors of the International Patients' Bill of Rights.
Dr. Tucker is able to treat a wide range of international patients with all types of cancer. Interpreters are available for patients whose native languages include Mandarin, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Bahasa Indonesian, Bahasa Melayu, and Tagalog.
